Mining
Demireller Group's subsidiary, Demireller Agriculture Mining Inc., was established in 2001 with its headquarters in Ereğli/Konya. Mining activities began with the Bauxite mine located within the borders of Mersin and Karaman provinces. In a short period, through both production and procurement activities, the company became a market leader and pioneered innovations in various aspects. Achievements included annual sales of 500,000 tons, the first export to China, exploring new applications for bauxite, and pioneering bauxite mining abroad, among others, marking the company's firsts in Turkey. Subsequently, with new bauxite fields acquired in Muğla and Eskişehir, improvements were made in quality and capacity, expanding the company's reach to more customers and countries.
In 2011, our group expanded its mining activities through new companies into magnesite and iron ore. The high-quality magnesite produced at the Magnesite field in Mersin/Mut meets the needs of Sinter-Magnesite factories in Turkey and abroad. Currently, it has an annual production capacity of 80-100 thousand tons.

The preliminary preparations for the establishment of the Sinter Magnesite factory project in Mut have begun. Started in 2012, the production of magnetite iron ore is increasing, reaching an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons. Concentrated magnetite production is carried out at three separate beneficiation facilities in Kahramanmaraş, Malatya, and Elazığ, with sales both domestically and internationally. In addition to mining activities, partnerships have been established to provide contracting services for cement factories. Our group companies have demonstrated their reliability and continuity in the sector, leaving lasting marks as a game changer.

Bauxite Mine
Bauxite consists of aluminum-iron oxides and hydroxides such as boehmite, gibbsite, and diaspore. It forms secondarily as concretions through the filtration and washing of rainwater under tropical conditions from aluminum silicate-containing rocks. It appears in green, brown, red, and gray colors and can be massive, oolitic, or pisolitic.
The known global bauxite reserves are approximately 38 billion tons. Guinea holds the largest reserves with 8.6 billion tons, accounting for 23% of global reserves, followed by Australia with 7.9 billion tons (21%), Vietnam with 5.4 billion tons (14%), and Brazil with 5.4 billion tons (7%).
In Turkey, according to MTA data, the known bauxite reserves are 68.91 million tons. This figure constitutes a very small fraction, approximately 0.18%, of the world reserves. About 90% of mined bauxite worldwide is used in aluminum production, and bauxite production increases parallel to aluminum demand. Global bauxite production reached 350 million tons annually as of 2015.
Demireller Mining Inc. estimates visible reserves at our bauxite fields to be 8 million tons, with probable reserves estimated at 16 million tons.
Demireller Mining Chemical Analysis Laboratory was established in 2010. Since the integration of the XRF Chemical Analysis Device in 2011, chemical analyses of various industrial ores, primarily iron, have been conducted.
Magnesite
Magnesite, with the chemical formula MgCO3, consists theoretically of 52.3% CO2 and 47.7% MgO, with trace amounts of Fe2O3. It has a hardness ranging from 3.4 to 4.5 on the Mohs scale and a specific gravity of 2.9-3.1 g/cm³. Its color varies between white, yellow, gray, and brown. In nature, it forms in two main types: cryptocrystalline (gel/amorphous) and crystalline (coarse crystalline). It is a hard and complex mineral that forms as a result of alteration of serpentine or similar rocks or the contact metamorphism of dolomites. There are also sedimentary magnesite deposits.
Our company estimates probable reserves of magnesite to be 5,000,000 tons.
Magnetite
DEMAD Mining, a subsidiary of Demireller Group, has been producing magnetite iron needed for our country's coal washery at the Elbistan facility in Kahramanmaraş since 2010. Magnetite iron has the chemical formula Fe3O4 and is used to create a dense medium in coal washing and enrichment plants to separate and enrich coal from soil.
Our facility in Elbistan utilizes advanced technology machinery and equipment to produce high-quality magnetite required by our country. Our annual production capacity is 30,000 tons. DEMAD Mining conducts the fastest magnetite shipments in our country using its own fleet of transportation trucks.
